Categorical Variables in SPSS
Просмотров 8 тыс.4 года назад
The two things you must know before estimating Regression models in IBM SPSS. First, use the General Linear Model option rather than the Regression option in SPSS to be able to enter categorical and continuous variables separately. Second, recode categorical variables so that the reference category is coded higher than the category for which you'd like to estimate the coefficient.

Hi Haider, could you please explain what size is and how you put the code? Thanks a lot
Proud of Pakistan!
i needed this thanks, how can i contact you??
Great Webinar, excellent explaination
If we don’t do log transformation of x and y variables, is midpoint price elasticity = slope*(mean x variable /mean y variable) ? If we do log transformation, is price elasticity just the slope ?
Yes.

thank you so much!
how can i get .shp file of the state/country I want?
Hello sir any update on your new business analytics book ?
Prof. Murtaza Haider is a great mentor of my life. I am pursuing Professional Certificate of Data Science by IBM through Coursera where Prof. Haider Sir is my mentor. I fall in love with this course as I have attended your first lecture. You are a great inspiration for me to start my career in Data Science. I wish to meet you soon, Sir!
how to make shape and related files to be read in geoda
Much appreciate Professor, clear and to-the-point instruction.
what if both dependent and independent variable are categorical? how to explain and interpret them?
Sir, how did you get t-variable Please explain the steps in details
Thanks sir
Amazing tutorial thank you!
Thank you for the short and effective tutorial Muratza!
What was ID in this data? Can I use the ID number I have assigned to participants?
Thank you for this advise. I've started reading your Getting Started with data science, very interesting. I've surpised that the main skills for data scientist are curiosity and storytelling ability :) I like it.
dude the dependent variable is continious
AOA I am sabeeka
Thanks for the vid, but also it's 2020 and you're using that cursor...
谢谢分享
Thanks for the great initiative... Just one question, the videos and supporting material will be accessible publicly or just to the registered students?
Can u make a video on error threw by varImp function.
Thank you so much this 2 min video

Thanks for this video, I wanted to know how to interpret if the categorical variable has multiple categories?
Sir, would you like to upload data file? It would facilitate to practice in the same way as shown in the video.
Commands for this, please, sir.
My dependent variable shows up in the output table at 5:04. This doesn't seem correct right?
Very well explained , thank you!
you are best for me. I am satisfied with your presentation
Is there a video for continuous independent variable and categorical dependent variable?
Long live dear Sir Murtaza Haider
Love you my dear Sir Murtaza Haider!
you mentioned categorical values such house style, semi detached, townhouse etc but failed to explain how to interpret this? Only described for bedrooms which is a simple scenario.
i thought i had finally found a regression model with a categorical dependent variable... not...
Hey did you find somewhere? even I am looking for the same
@@dhavalsukhadia8893 unfortunatly not...
although most of my data suits for chi-square so i did most of my analysis, just not the regression model I intended to do
Hi Prof. Thank you for the video. However, my data set has only 1 continuous data which is age and the rest of data are categorical like gender, occupation, risk factor, corneal scrapping outcome, how can I run a regression to look for correlation between sociodemographic factors, risk factors and the disease which in this case is microbial keratitis? Kindly help me prof
nice elaboraion sir
lol Here comes 2020 with corona and everything changed.
Thank you very much prof
Think about it. Why is the world b as no intrested in such statistics?
Wow, stick to stats and stay out of economics as you apparently aren't up on the most current research... If you want to understand why we need rent control learn about behavioral economics. Classical economics has been debunked, it assumes that humans are rational beings and we are not. Trickle down economics and supply and demand do not work in modern cities, these cities are not free economies they generally have monopolies. In addition, they assume that poor people must wait until the rich have their fill but what has been happening is the rich are never full and the poor starve without the stability of rent control.
Omg, I have been struggling for hours to try to do this ad your video finally gave me the answers!!! Thank you sooooooooo much!!!
thank so much Mr Murtaza Haider! It so really useful for me!
